    Wen County is located in the west of northern Henan plains, south to the Yellow River and north to the Taihang Mountain. It is named after the ancient hot springs and famous as "Hometown of Martial Arts", "Hometown of Huai medicine" and "Base of high-quality wheat seed''. It is a provincial healthy county, civilized city and garden city, top ten Chinese leisure Tourism County. The total area is 481 square kilometers with a population of 420,000. It owns 10 towns, 262 villages.

    It is a place with long history and rich culture. Wen County was called Wen Country in Xia dynasty, Jineidi in Shang dynasty and sheyi in Zhou. Wen County was founded in Spring and Autumn Period. It belongs to Huaiqing government jurisdiction in Ming and Qing. It also has the historical figures such as the famous philosopher Bu Zixia in Spring and Autumn Period, militarist SiMa yi in Sanguo, artist Guo Xi in the Northern Song. Meanwhile, it is known by the world as the birthplace of Tai chi and several family names such as Wen, Su and Xing.

    It is a place with plenty of cultural traveling resources. Wen is the birthland of Taichi, after hundreds of years of inheritance, Taichi has already derived Yang, Wu, Sun, Wu, He and other schools from Chen. It has spreaded to more than 150 countries in the world. Wen also has Chenjiagou, state-level major cultural relic preservation sites Tsz sheng temple and ancient Wen country ruins, the former residence of Sima, Zixia and so on. There are 13 rivers include the Yellow River, Qin river, Ji river, the overall length is 226.8km. The 290 thousand mu beach area are covered by trees and grass which make a very beautiful scene. This becomes the ideal place for ecological leisure and traveling.      

    It is a place with convenient transportation network. Wen County is the southern gate of Jiaozuo, in the center of Zhengzhou, Jiaozuo, Luoyang three cities "one-hour economic circle ". It adjoins to Longhai railway in south and Jiaozhi railway in north. There are the Yellow River highway bridge and Jiaowen expressway in the county, connected to Lianhuo, Jiaojin, Jiaozheng high-speed roads. It takes only one hour driving to Xinzheng International Airport.

    It is a place with rapid industrial development. There are more than 160 Industrial Enterprises above Designated Size. The three leading industries dominated by equipment manufacturing, agricultural sideline production processing, shoe leather making have taken initial shape. As one of the first batch in Henan, the Industrial clustering Zone of Wen county has perfect infrastructural facilities and sound service system. In recent years, enterprises develop very fast and have been an important support to the county's economy.      

    It is a place with advantageous agriculture characteristics. Wen county is the first to yield more than one ton per mu each year in the north of Yellow river, its per unit yield is always the top of the whole country. As one of the most important wheat seed production bases, Wen wheat series' cultivated area amount to 30 million mu . It is one of the dominant series in Huanghuai district which made distinguished construction to the country's grain supply and food security. Besides, Wen  County is the authentic producing area of  "four huai medicine" Chinese yam, foxglove, chrysanthemum and achyranthes, especially the "Chinese iron yam" which is well-known by the world with its authentic quality and unique effect.
